 Gorgeous rocks at Artists Point.
A custard sunday at Sydney's -- On the top deck
We just walked around the Hwy. and the gush of the water was incredible at Temperance State Park. When i got home- the next morning on the news they said someone died (drowned) at Temp. pk. the day before. When we were up north 2 yrs. ago, two women drowned then also. The current is soooo fast.
The gush of the water was so loud.

Scott's camera now, so pics are a lil mixed up. Grand Marais again
Analise wishes it was warm water. Not so though.
 Our camping spot.

Our hike at Devils Track lake/ river area.

Some of the gorge that i could safely see. You could see out to Lk. Superior.
This in Ely. Analise and I did a 2 mile hike around Norberg Lake.

 Our camping spot in Ely.
Analise loved this duck family in Gr. Mar.
This area is called Norfolk School. Many people come from all over and teach many different classes here. Canoe building to bread making in a brick oven.

 Logan at Lake Kimball
Our evening view at Harbor House Grille.
 Super pizza.

 Analise's big catch.

Uffda-- We're back from the big 8 day camping expedition. A good time was had by all and nobody got hurt. First, we stopped in Duluth, MN to see the tall ships and  hang out there for just a little while. Then, we headed north for Two Harbors and had picnic lunch i had packed by Lake Superior. Logan fed geese right out of his hand. Finally, our destination of Grand Marais. This is our third time going to Grand Marais and we get the same camping spot each time. The boys did some fishing at area streams and didn't seem to have much luck. Analise and I bummed around the cute, quaint lil village. We can either walk or bike into town. We did that a lot. We also did about 3 good sized hiking trips. Judge Magney State Pk. had an amazing Devil's Kettle waterfall. The steps to get to and from the falls was a killer on my calves, but well worth the trek. We also hiked up Oberg Hill and there were great views there too. Devil's track lake/river hike along Mn deepest gorge was the scariest. I felt like at an moment we could possibly loose a family member. The trail was part of the Superior Hiking Trail (which runs from Duluth to the Canadian border, i think i read it was 313 miles long) I could not even begin to see the bottom of this gorge. It was a beautiful 4-5 mile hike.
One evening the kids went to Dairy Queen for supper and Scott & I went to the Harbor House Grille and had a yummy Bloody Mary & a Blonde Chicken brick oven pizza. We ate on their deck with an amazing view of Lake Superior. After 5 nites at Gr. Marais then it was off to Ely, MN. We took Hwy #1. my oh my, was this a winding road to take. I was warned about that though. We took Logan to tour the Vermillion Community College as long as we were there. Then headed to our spot at Bear Head State Park. The park was about a half hour out of Ely. Very secluded and nice camping spots. The park was very clean and is surrounded by the Bear Head Lake. Scott and the kids rented a canoe and went fishing on the lake. Not much luck. When we got up Sun. morning it was 45 degrees. Glad we had some heat. Time to pack it up and head south. We were all getting anxious to get home.      Home sweet Home!!
